Tour De France

The Tour de France 2021 will start on June 26th. Tadej Pogacar is the defending champion. Other favorites are Primoz Roglic and Ineos. Ineos and Jumbo Visma have the best team for the race. Jumbo have only Roglic as leader but INEOS has more.

Last year Tadej Pogacar shocked the world by beating his compatriot and friend Primoz Roglic. He won the stage and won by 56 seconds after being down nearly a minute. That stage finished on a mountain as a time trial. Last year was also delayed a couples months because of the pandemic. Four former winners will participate Chris Froome Geraint Thomas Vincenzo Nibali and Tadej Pogacar.

I believe Tadej will win his second race. The Olympics are coming up so some riders like Mathieu Van der Poel may not finish. Primoz Roglic will make it tough for Pogacar to win with his dominant team.

Jacob Degrom

            Jacob Degrom is having a spectacular season this year. He pitches for the New York Mets. He  is 5-2 with only a .71 Era. His last start against the Padres he went seven innings gave up no runs on only three hits.

            This is good for his team even though when he pitches they don’t always give him the run support. In his two losses he only gave up three runs in total.  This is exciting for the fans even though they suck.

            This run could end Jacob in the hall of fame. He has won two cy youngs for best pitcher in 2018 and 2019 and came third in 2020. He is again in the running and even got MVP chants. He got MVp chants in CITI field where his team plays and Arizona his opponent. He is also on pace for best Era since the mound was changed in 1969.

                                                       Alpecin Fenix new Uniform

Alpecin Fenix who is riding the Tour  De france as an invite rode with a new uniform to look like Mathieu Vander Poel’s grandfathers team.  Mathieu’s mother is Raymond’s daughter. The uniform is purple and orange.

Alpecin Fenix got automatic invites to all world tour events because they finished as the best ProTour team in 2020. They have already won 19 races and are looking for more.

Raymond Poulidors daughter Corrine  married Adrie Van der Poel and had Mathieu and David. Adrie david and Mathieu are all cyclists. The also excel in Cyclocross.

The uniform will only be used at the team presentation and stage one. They will have to wear their old ones after that.

Olympics 2022

Olympic Boycott?

              The 2022 Olympics are rumored to be boycotted by many countries including the United States. They will be held in Bejing China starting February 4th. The reason is because of human rights in China.

              We do not know who will and wont be boycotting but its because of human rights. It was a very controversial decision to even award the games to China. Some are saying that they will still compete but under the Olympic flag and anthem.

              I think this is interesting because there has never been a Winter Olympic Boycott and that the last boycott was in 1988. We don’t know the full extent to why the boycott might happen and what human rights are said.

                                         Terry Francona

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona has stepped down as manager. This is because of his health and two surgeries: a hip and toe. Bench Coach Demarlo Hale will take over.

              He was out most of last year with health issues. I don’t remember exactly but he only managed a couple games. He has been their manager since 2013 where he led them to the playoffs. He has never led them to a losing season.

              I think this will be bad for Cleveland. He is the best manager for a while for them. I don’t know what Hale has done before becoming the sort of interim manager but he will be it.
